Care and support

Refilling paper, swapping packs, and what to do when something isn't right.

Refilling paper

Open the back panel, drop the new roll in with the loose end facing the slot, close the panel. The next press of the button feeds it automatically.

Swapping a Story Pack

Push the pack in until it clicks. To remove, push again and it pops out. Only one pack is active at a time; the light on the bay shows which.

Cleaning

Wipe with a dry cloth. Keep liquids away from the slot. The button can be removed and rinsed if something sticky happens to it.

Something isn't right

The button light doesn't come on

Check the cable at both ends. If the light still doesn't come on after ten seconds, unplug for a minute and try again. If nothing, write to us.

The book came out but the cover is blank

The ink cartridge is empty or unseated. Open the front panel, press the cartridge firmly until it clicks, and reprint by holding the button for three seconds.

The story doesn't include what my child said

Hold the button for the whole time your child is talking, and let go when they finish. If the light was on and the idea was still missed, tell us the title and the idea; we use these reports to improve listening for young voices.

The pages are stuck together at the spine

Open the book from the outside edge, not the spine, on the first reading. The seal softens with the first few opens. If pages are fused across the text, that is a fault: send us a photo and we will replace the roll.

A Story Pack isn't recognised

Remove it, wipe the contacts on the pack with a dry cloth, and re-insert until it clicks. Packs work on any MirthTale, so try a friend's if you can.

Warranty

MirthTale devices will ship with the statutory two-year warranty under German consumer law, and we intend to offer repair beyond that. Paper and packs are consumables. Full terms will be published before the first shipment.
