Privacy Policy

How MirthTale handles personal data on this website and, once it ships, on the device.

Last updated: 14 September 2026

1. Who we are

MirthTale ("we", "us") is based in Berlin, Germany. We are the controller for personal data processed through mirthtale.com and, where applicable, the MirthTale device. You can reach us at privacy@mirthtale.com or through the contact page. Our full company details are in the Imprint.

2. What we collect on this website

  • Contact and reserve-list forms: your name, email address, and anything you type in the form, including country, children's ages, and Story Pack preferences if you choose to give them. We use this to reply to you and to tell you about availability. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR.
  • Server logs: our hosting provider records IP address, browser type, requested page, and time, kept for a short period for security. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
  • Cookies: this website sets no tracking or advertising cookies. See the Cookie Policy.

3. Children

This website is for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children through it, and our forms do not ask for a child's name or date of birth. If you believe a child has sent us data, write to us and we will delete it.

4. The device

MirthTale is designed to keep as little as possible. Spoken ideas are processed only to write and print a book and are not used to build a profile of your child. Before any device ships we will publish a device-specific privacy notice describing exactly what is processed, where, and for how long, and we will update this policy accordingly.

5. How long we keep data

Form submissions are kept for as long as needed to handle your request and, for the reserve list, until the first run has shipped or you ask us to remove you. Server logs are deleted within a few weeks.

6. Sharing

We share data only with service providers needed to run this website and email, bound by data-processing agreements. We do not sell personal data and do not use it for advertising.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interest. You may withdraw consent at any time and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, for example the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information. Write to privacy@mirthtale.com.

8. Changes

We will post changes on this page and update the date above. Material changes affecting reserve-list members will be sent by email.
